One substitute teacher at my school insists on the phrase, “That Hoovers.”
Go ‘vacuum’ dad. mom.
Sounds like my old middle school disapproving of us saying our rivals sucked or saying anything sucks in general. They even put up signs in the halls to promote the new saying with the words DHS getting sucked up into a vacuum. We said suck anyway.
Censorship vacuums!
That’s gotta be one of the vacuumiest euphemisms on record…
This is what my Chem teacher always says to us. =]
Well it wouldn’t be the first time I’d have heard something (or someone!) described as “sucking like a dyson”
My mom said the same thing, only she said to say that it “inhales rapidly”.
My math teacher made us say “that vacuums” in class. All the time. But he was a good teacher.
At one of my former jobs, the office manager asked us to refrain from using “that sucks” because it just sounds vulgar.
This, from a women who refers to her period as “being on the rag.”
Teachers at my school don’t care at all. never did. I had never even heard the term ‘sucks’ until I went there
My mom won’t let us say that Kirby (the video game character) sucks, even though we mean it the way that vacuums suck. We have to say that he slurps. Note that suck is my mom’s favorite swear word.
